ACTION ALERT!

SB 254 is a xenophobic attempt to surveil and take away benefits from immigrants, like in-state tuition and SNAP assistance, benefits that some residents are eligible for even without US citizenship. It expands state power in ways that harm families, destabilize communities, and betray our legacy of freedom, fairness, and equal treatment under the law.

SB 254 is unnecessary, costly, and morally corrosive. Kansas can and must do better.

SB244 would put into law inaccurate definitions relating to gender that will be used to discriminate broadly and create unsafe environments for trans, intersex, and gender diverse individuals. Not only would it strip all gender marker changes from Driver's Licenses, but it would also include a birth certificate ban and make both of these retroactive, requiring any current documents to be reissued by the state government.

HB 2438 would ban online voter registration tools unless personally endorsed by the Kansas Secretary of State and take away local control of election officials by banning them from accepting online voter registration from anywhere the SOS hasn't personally endorsed.
